Bio / Artist Statement
I've been making fully functional stoneware pottery in my home studio at the foot of Rattlesnake Mountain in the beautiful countryside of Ashe County, NC since 2003. I like to employ a mix of handbuilding and wheel throwing in my work, but my real passion is texture. An amazing texture can be found in anything from children's toys to tree bark or even sometimes items from the trash, and the hunt for these items is a lifelong passion. For me the most important thing to remember in the making process is to have fun. It's my goal for the enjoyment I receive while making a piece transfers to the ultimate user and gives them a lifetime of enjoyment as well.
